Our story
Rooted here. Built with heart.
South Shore Crew began with a simple belief: every family deserves a crew they can count on. We’re building a thoughtful local childcare community that supports families, invests in caregivers, and makes room for more meaningful moments with children.

Meet the founders
A little local. A lot of heart.
South Shore Crew was founded by Carly, a Hingham native who graduated from Hingham High School and returned to the South Shore to raise a family. Becoming a mother made one thing especially clear: having people you trust makes everyday family life feel lighter.
Together with her husband, Drew, an Eagle Scout whose background reflects a commitment to service and community, Carly set out to build a more personal approach to finding childcare. One grounded in trust, genuine connection, and a shared belief that caregivers deserve support, too.
“Having people you trust makes everyday family life feel lighter.”

Our mission
To make family life a little lighter by bringing families and thoughtful caregivers together.
Our vision
To create a community where families feel supported, caregivers feel valued and inspired to grow, and children thrive.
Because every family needs a crew.
We care for our crew, too.
We believe great care starts with caregivers who feel supported. That’s why we’re designing South Shore Crew around more than matching families with available sitters.

Thoughtful connections
A focus on dependable caregivers and relationships that families can grow to trust.

Always learning
We’re building a caregiver onboarding experience and planned Crew Sessions focused on practical skills, child development, and confidence.

Play with purpose
The Crew Crafts Playbook, now in development, will offer ideas for age-appropriate activities, emotional connection, and creative play using supplies families already have at home.

years as a child life specialist at Boston Children’s Hospital
Inspired by experience
A thoughtful approach to childhood.
Our approach is inspired in part by a family legacy of caring for children. Carly’s mother spent 37 years as a child life specialist at Boston Children’s Hospital, bringing a deep appreciation for play, connection, and helping children navigate big feelings.
As we develop our caregiver education program, our advisors are helping shape how our crew engages with children thoughtfully and confidently.

Two child life specialists with more than 70 years of combined experience at Boston Children’s Hospital, helping us build caregiver education around play, connection, and children’s emotional needs.
